Special Summer Experiences

The Early Bird Catches the Worm
One of the secrets of contented Zurich residents in summer is an early morning swim: the city is slowly waking up, the water is refreshing, and the waterfront promenades and recreational areas are still quiet.
The Oasis on the Mountain
This summer, the "musegarden" at the Uto Kulm on the Uetliberg gives rise to a real vacation feeling: here joie de vivre abounds, with refreshing drinks, musical performances, street food, and beautiful sunsets.
Escape the Heat
Those who want to escape the summer heat in the city can cool down in the refreshing breeze at lofty heights. Standing 41 meters (135 ft) tall, the Hardwald lookout tower offers an impressive view into the far distance. The tower was built exclusively from locally sourced timber and with ist striking shape is a new attraction in the Glattal, not far from Zurich Airport.
Eat in the Garden of Eden
Always on Tuesdays
As soon as the last bathers have left the Unterer Letten riverside lido, it is transformed – only on Tuesdays – into the chic flussssbar. Here you can enjoy a sundowner or two, a cool beer, and lively conversations above the rippling river.

Flussssbar Facts:
- Every Tuesday
- From 8.15 pm
- May to August
- Entrance: Wasserwerkstrasse 131, 8037 Zurich
Mediterranean Evenings

Pétanque, Boules, or Boccia
Gravel, balls, and concentration: the recipe for hours of fun with friends is as simple as that. You can watch all the action on some of Zurich’s squares – or have a go at this precision sport yourself.

Stadtsommer Concerts
Admittedly, you are not alone here and it is not quiet either. But: the wonderful and free Stadtsommer concerts always take place at unique locations and are therefore an absolute must for everyone who visits Zurich in summer.
Bad Weather?
- The Masoala Hall has tropical temperatures all year round, no matter what the weather is like outside. The Mora-Mora Bar is an absolute insider tip, because it is a bit hard to find and is only open on Sunday afternoons!
- If you do not directly need tropical temperatures, Zurich’s museums are a good place to go. From art to history, technology, culture, design, and toys: in Zurich, the knowledge-thirsty will find all kinds of fascinating exhibitions.

Tip:
For after the exhibition, the café at the Museum Rietberg often serves culinary delicacies inspired by the current exhibitions. And during the summer, there are deliciously filled picnic baskets for visitors to take into the park under the trees.
