focusTerra – Museum of Earth Sciences at the ETH Zurich
With its geological exhibition, the museum focusTerra takes you on a fascinating journey from the Earth's center to the peaks of the Alps.
How was the Earth formed? Why do volcanoes erupt? Where do precious stones come from? These and many more questions are answered at focusTerra, the Earth Sciences Research and Information Center of ETH Zurich – with explanations based on scientific findings.
The exhibition also offers visitors insight into today's debates and environmental issues, addressing topics such as climate change, natural hazards and the disposal of hazardous waste.
Anyone taking part in a guided tour can also experience what a real earthquake feels like, thanks to an earthquake simulator.
