Illuminated and animated art set to music enthralls a broad public in Zürich-West.
Light museum for immersive art
Illuminated and animated works by famous artists
Temporary exhibitions until 2023
Two to three productions annually
Extended until February 27, 2022: “Viva Frida Kahlo – Immersive Experience”.
The expressive artist’s creations and life are at the heart of this immersive exhibition, presented using high-performance video projections and light and acoustic effects.
When the stars of Van Gogh’s famous painting, “Starry Night”, or the animals in Frida Kahlo’s work suddenly move, don’t worry – you haven’t gone crazy! No, you are standing in Zurich’s first immersive light museum.
Based on the model in Paris, the Atelier des Lumières, the Lichthalle MAAG presents great artists and their famous works quite literally in a completely new light. Visitors do not stand in front of the painting in the traditional way, but “immerse” themselves in it.
Art can thus be experienced in an entirely new way. Children and young people, in particular, can experience a totally new approach to the great masters through animations and accompanying soundtracks.
Due to the constantly changing Covid 19 measures, it is currently impossible to keep all opening hours on the zuerich.com website up to date. Therefore, please check the website of the respective businesses or institutions before visiting a restaurant, shopping or museum.
We thank you for your understanding and wish you a pleasant stay in Zurich.
