IRONMAN Rapperswil 70.3

The IRONMAN Rapperswil 70.3 is a triathlon of the particularly attractive kind. The swimming section follows a 1.9km (1.2 mile) route through the crystal-clear waters of the upper part of Lake Zurich, known as the Obersee. A picturesque, 90 km (56 mile) cycling route takes participants along the lake shore past lush green meadows. And the half-marathon – where the triathletes cover a 10.5 km (13.1 mile) circuit twice over is an unforgettable experience, for it leads through the very heart of Rapperswil’s Old Town, across Fischmarktplatz and up the “Stairway to Heaven” to the castle.
In total, the athletes tackle 70.3 miles swimming, running and cycling – which is where this internationally renowned contest gets its name. Incidentally, the top athletes win themselves a slot at the IRONMAN 70.3 World Championships. A truly memorable spectacle for spectators, too.
