May 7 – 17, 2020
At this year’s edition of FOOD ZURICH, traditional Swiss dishes once again rub shoulders with global culinary trends, long established restaurants with out-of-the-ordinary settings, and up-and-coming young chefs with old hands from the world of gastronomy. During FOOD ZURICH, food experts and enthusiasts cook, taste, and indulge in culinary delights at numerous venues in the heart of the City on the Limmat, as well as in the surrounding region.
Over 100 Food-Related Events
For 11 indulgent days, Zurich will host over 100 events, all centered on food and drink. The program ranges from unforgettable dinners at exceptional locations to a Street Food Festival lasting several days, to professional cookery courses, food tastings, kitchen battles, urban gardening, and guided tours of the Zurich gastro scene, rounded off by a varied assortment of other culinary highlights. The full program along with all the ticketing details can be found at foodzurich.com from the end of February 2020.
Festival Center at Europaallee
A festival center is being set up again at Europaallee. Besides staging events, the site also serves as an experimental laboratory and production location, bringing together chefs, restaurants, and, of course, members of the public. The “Chuchi” (“kitchen” in Swiss-German) is at the very heart of the activities, providing a stage for kitchen battles, workshops, cookery courses, and talks. In addition, guests have the opportunity to sample FOOD ZURICH’s most exciting culinary concoctions at a specially constructed restaurant and wine cellar.
City Dish on the Theme of “Culinary Future”
During the FOOD ZURICH festival, selected Zurich restaurants serve a special “City Dish” of their own creation on a given theme. In 2020, the theme is “Culinary Future”.
