- Feature: master plan, new urban district
Europaallee is a new urban quarter arising on a site covering more than 80,000 square meters (860,000 square feet), directly alongside the tracks of Zurich Main Station.
Europaallee comprises various construction sites, which have been mainly implemented by Zurich architects, but also by architectural firms from London and Amsterdam.
Europaallee is an overall architectural concept, under whose roof many different institutions are housed. Besides leisure activities such as shopping and gastronomy, it also accommodates the Zurich University of Teacher Education, as well as offices and apartments.
The 25hours Hotel lies in an interesting position between the bustling Main Station and the multicultural Langstrasse. Directly opposite is the Kulturhaus Kosmos, which with its forum, stage, movie theater, book salon, café, store and bistro represents a tiny cosmos all of its own within the larger Europaallee universe.
The site extends from the listed Sihlpost building to Langstrasse, the popular entertainment street in the trendy Zürich-West quarter.
