Museums' Season Opening

On September 25, the Löwenbräukunst complex celebrates its legendary Season Opening. From 6pm, six institutions will unveil their new exhibitions, open to explore until 9pm. One highlight is "Two Truths", a short film by Ayo Akingbade filmed in Zurich. Afterwards, the evening continues with drinks, food and music until 11pm.

Immersive Van Gogh

The immersive exhibition Between Madness and Wonder explores the final three years of Vincent van Gogh’s life – a period marked by remarkable paintings, personal letters and inner struggles. Visitors can experience iconic works such as The Starry Night alongside vivid depictions of blooming fields, offering a glimpse into the artist’s life.

Familiar Works, New Perspectives

Monet’s Water Lilies, Warhol’s Soup Cans and Bacon’s Triptych are among the iconic works brought together in a new exhibition at the Kunsthaus Zürich. By placing familiar works in new contexts and creating unexpected connections, the exhibition offers fresh perspectives on the collection and invites visitors to rediscover some of its best-known masterpieces.

Renowned chef Markus Stöckle opened his new restaurant, Marküs, on Glockengasse in Zurich’s Old Town on September 8. Set in a historic setting, the restaurant brings together the culinary influences that have shaped Stöckle’s career: his Bavarian roots, his passion for Japan and his love of Switzerland.

Katsu, Kare & Co.

Food & Drinks

A new spot has opened at Kalkbreite: Katsuya serves crispy, deep-fried Japanese specialities, bringing Japanese comfort food to Zurich. Owners Sophie Nham and Christopher Williner, who already run several Japanese food spots in the city, have created a menu centred around katsu dishes. A highlight is the Katsu Kare, combining crispy katsu with Japanese curry.

Starting October 1, Zurich Tourism’s food tour enters a new chapter. The walking tour takes visitors through Zurich’s vibrant culinary scene, with stops at selected restaurants along the way. Alongside delicious specialities to sample, participants discover fascinating insights into the city’s food and drink culture.
