From 2026, Sechseläutenplatz – which is right by Bellevue, just steps from Lake Zurich – will be transformed into Bellevue Noël each winter. This Christmas market is the successor to Zurich’s long-standing “Wienachtsdorf” and features an impressive 50-metre-wide Christmas wreath made of Swiss wood – which visitors can walk on at a height of around five meters, giving them a wonderful view of the festive hustle and bustle of the market. The wreath is free to access but tickets are required – these are available for advance online booking or can be acquired at the market. The Christmas wreath is wheelchair-accessible: An elevator is available to transport guests to the top, in addition to the stairs.
Guests can look forward to some 100 market stalls with an emphasis on local and sustainable products – the perfect place to wander, browse, and hunt for gifts. There’s no chance of going hungry here, with various food stalls and a huge fondue chalet with space for up to 600 guests, which serves cheese from different mountain regions. A diverse program of entertainment with plenty of surprises in store and an atmospheric candle ritual on Sundays complete the experience.
