The Jakob restaurant is housed in the hotel of the same name in the heart of the Old Town of Rapperswil and with a view of the long flight of steps leading up to Rapperswil Castle.
The location might be impressive, but the outstanding cuisine – which has been awarded one Michelin star and 16 Gault Millau points – is even more so. The dishes are prepared using ingredients that chef Markus Burkhard picks in the nearby field or in the restaurant garden, are delivered by the local fisherman early in the morning, or are sourced from farms in the region.
A menu is hardly necessary, for the excellent service staff explain the dishes directly at guests’ tables. And they in turn have a view of the open kitchen and can watch the culinary delicacies being prepared.
The restaurant also provides the perfect setting for a high-quality business and private event.
