Museum of Pre-History

20,000 years of fascinating history under one roof: at the Museum of Pre-History, people interested in bygone times can travel back into the past.

At the Museum of Pre-History in Zug, visitors can travel almost 20,000 years back into the past and examine impressive archaeological finds from Canton Zug. These artefacts were left behind by Paleolithic hunters and gatherers, pile dwellers, traders from the Iron Age, Roman warlords and Early Medieval tribes.

True-to-life scenes featuring people and model settlements enhance the experience.

For the youngest guests, there is a children’s gallery with toys, games, books and a “touch and feel” box. In addition, a room with display cases shows how archaeology was presented in times gone by.  A special program to celebrate children’s birthdays completes the offer.
