Here, just like in Zurich several decades ago, the sewing machines still rattle away in the back of the store: the clothing manufacturer, Markant, produces high-quality men’s garments using exclusively European fabrics.

The concept of urban manufacturing allows the craft to be experienced close up: while browsing and trying on items in the store, customers can see at first-hand how the individual pieces are sewn together. Markant produces its garments locally, in a socially compatible manner, and without long supply routes. In order to avoid over-production and/or large stocks, the Markant team make most of the items to order. In this way, individual wishes regarding fit, shape, and fabric can optimally be taken into account.
