Many people know the Restaurant Stoller on Albisriederplatz because of its legendary “Frauentraum” ice cream creation. But that is not the only thing that makes it worth a visit.

Food lovers can find the Restaurant Stoller directly on Albisriederplatz. The locale is renowned throughout the city for, among other things, its “Frauentraum” (Ladies’ Dream) ice cream, which is just one of the many that were created by Walter Stoller. From 1938, Walter Stoller was one of the first people to produce ice cream in Zurich according to a Italian recipe. He initially sold his “gelati” in his own café, and then later in his hotel, the “Stoller”.
Nowadays, the restaurant is run by the third generation. And in the meantime, other specialties of the house have long since established themselves as classics: Zürcher Geschnetzeltes is popular all year round, while the seasonal menu featuring dishes from Switzerland as well as regional specialty weeks changes regularly.
Besides a broad choice of breakfast dishes, gourmets can also enjoy the “Chef’s Table”: here, a five-course menu including the appropriate wines are served at a large table in the middle of the kitchen.
