Café & Conditorei 1842

Since 1842, this establishment on Napfgasse has been a place of culinary indulgence. On four floors, food lovers can enjoy patisserie, cakes, a legendary hot drinking chocolate, and, of course, various coffee and tea specialties.

For lunch, there is a small but select assortment of delicacies. On the ground floor with the terrace in front is the beautiful, historical confectioner’s store in neo-baroque style, offering a choice range of the finest patisserie, cakes, and tarts. Naturally, on advance order, the team also creates cakes according to clients’ individual wishes.

History:

The Café & Conditorei 1842 is located on Napfgasse, in the heart of Zurich’s vibrant Niederdorf quarter. The name derives from the founding year, when the baker, Johann Georg Eberle, laid the foundation for the present-day café with confectioner’s store.
