The 4.4-km-long easy circuit hike leads to Zurich’s green heart: the Käferberg. The trail combines shady forest paths, extensive meadows and impressive views of the city and the Alps – perfect for a short break in nature.
Starting and arrival point is Bucheggplatz in the city of Zurich, that can be reached by public transport. From there, the trail leads through the Käferberg forest, past the popular Eichörnliweg (Squirrel Trail) – a highlight for families with children – further to Waidbad, where a barbecue area and playground await. The Waid lookout point offers spectacular views of Zurich before returning to the starting point.
