Kunst Museum Winterthur

The Kunst Museum Winterthur unites three different museums under one umbrella brand and impresses with its wonderful collection.

Since the merger of the former Kunstmuseum Winterthur, the Museum Oskar Reinhart, and the Villa Flora, the newly formed umbrella brand, Kunst Museum Winterthur, houses one of the most beautiful art collections in Switzerland.

Beim Stadthaus

The former Kunstmuseum is the oldest of Winterthur’s art museums. Opened in 1916, it continues to expand its collection of paintings, sculptures, drawings, and prints. Nowadays, the museum holds the fourth largest public collection of modern art in Switzerland.

Reinhart am Stadtgarten

When it opened in 1951, the former Museum Oskar Reinhart was the first private museum in Switzerland. The collection of patron Oskar Reinhart (1885-1965) includes Swiss, German and Austrian art of early Romanticism and Realism. The museum also exhibits masterpieces from the Dutch Golden Age.

Villa Flora

The residence of the collector couple, Hahnloser-Bühler, was once a meeting place for artists and art lovers. These days, it houses Arthur and Hedy Hahnloser-Bühler’s art collection, which includes works by Manet, Cézanne, and van Gogh.

The Villa Flora is currently closed for renovation and is expected to reopen in 2023.
