Don’t worry, the seagulls suspended from the ceiling won’t defecate in your beer – they’re made of plastic. But everything in at the Hafenkneipe does actually look very authentic – with its porthole lamps, ship’s propellers, and helms on the walls.

Zurich’s Indie fans, from bankers to punks, meet here to enjoy an after-work drink or enjoy one of the concerts that are regularly staged here – on these occasions it does get rather cramped, but is all the more intimate.

The atmosphere at the Hafenkneipe is always quiet and relaxed – a great place, therefore, to drop anchor and chill out for a while.
