Green Marathon Zurich
The Green Marathon Zurich is a publicly accessible, clearly signed running trail, which extends for a total of 42 km (26 miles) through the center of Zurich and the city’s most beautiful recreational areas.
The trail is ideal for runners of all types and levels, for there is no time pressure or need to complete the total length of 42 km (26 miles) in one go. On the contrary, athletes can run the marathon route in sections – in a day, a week, or even a longer period of time. Of course, you can also choose to run just the most beautiful stretches. In addition, thanks to the clear signage (green signs) and easy access to public transportation, the run can be broken off at any time.
As a result, the running trail is suitable for locals and tourists alike who enjoy sporting activities outdoors surrounded by nature. The official starting and finishing points are both by the Rio Bar in the city center.
