Swiss Traditional Costume Festival 2024

After 50 years, the colorful folk festival returns to Zurich and promises three days full of music and tradition.

From June 28–30, 2024, Zurich will be transformed into a festival setting. “Without folk dancing, no folk festival” – this motto accompanies the event and invites visitors to activally take part in the festival, which features vivacious dances and authentic music on seven stages at four festival sites.

June 28, 2024, 1 pm: Opening Parade from Zurich Main Station to St. Peter’s Church

June 29, 2024, 11 am: Folk dancing and children’s festival on Sechseläutenplatz

June 30, 2024, 2 pm: Grand Parade through the city center

Special Features:

Marvel at traditional costumes

On Saturday, a spectacular traditional costume show will take place in Zurich’s city center in the form of a flash mob. Guests can experience at close quarters the diversity of Zurich’s traditional costumes at as yet unnamed locations.

At Lindenhof, an exhibition shows a small selection of the in total 700 different Swiss traditional costumes.
