Coronavirus - Situation in Zurich

Life in Zurich is slowly picking up again.

From the middle of May, some degree of normality will return to Zurich: hotels, stores, restaurants, and museums can open their doors and welcome guests once again. Social distancing and hygiene and protective measures are still of key importance, but visitors who travel smart can enjoy Zurich in a variety of ways.

From June onwards, there will also be a wider range of leisure activities on offer: Zurich Zoo, the Botanical Gardens, swimming pools, boat cruises, and other facilities are expected to commence operations again.

No large-scale events will be held until the end of August, and Zurich’s clubs, and concert halls will also remain closed for the time being.

The Tourist Information at Zurich Main Station can be reached at any time via chat, e-mail, and phone. From May 11, the Zürich Tourism staff will be delighted to assist and advise you in person.

Public transport will operate according to the regular timetable from May 11. Up-to-date information can be obtained from the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) and the Zurich Transport Network (ZVV).

Further information on the official regulations is published on the website of the Swiss Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH).

At the current time, travel is only possible within Switzerland. Incoming travel from abroad is largely restricted and will be relaxed step by step. Detailed information is available from the State Secretariat for Migration (SEM).
