Weinstube 1923

Hungry people can find a little insider tip directly at Central, close to Zurich Main Station.

In the wood-paneled room at the Weinstube 1923, guests feel as if they have traveled back in time. Although the wine tavern at Central has probably been in existence since 1858, it is known to have been in the possession of the Nussbaumer family since 1923, who have continued to run it as a restaurant with great love and care to this day.

In an effort to uphold tradition as far as possible, the menu at this small but select tavern features some real Swiss classics. For instance, besides rösti hash-brown potatoes, tripe is also served. However, there is a selection of delicious dishes for the less adventurous, too, such as cordon bleu, boiled beef, or the traditional local specialty, Zürcher Geschnätzeltes.

Located just a five-minute walk from Zurich Main Station, the Weinstube 1923 is the perfect place for travelers who are paying a brief visit to Zurich or for anyone who has just arrived in the City on the Limmat and is feeling hungry.
