Zurich Succulent Plant Collection
Experience the diversity of plant species through seven greenhouses and cold frames as well as a rockery under the open sky.
The Zurich Succulent Plant Collection has been home to one of the largest and most important specialist collections of succulent plants since 1931. Succulent plants store water in their stems, leafs and roots and are found primarily in semi-desert and arid areas. Succulent plants include cacti and agaves as well as aloes and many other thick-leaved plants. Over 50% of the collection (around 6,500 species) features different types of succulent plants from all the renowned plant families.
