Mt. Titlis in Winter

The famous Titlis is just under 69 minutes by car from Zurich. It lies on the border between the cantons of Bern and Obwalden and is easily accessible from Engelberg via two gondola lifts.

The glacier is a popular destination all year round and the only one in the region. The panoramic view of the surrounding mountains is breathtaking. On the “Ice Flyer” chairlift, guests glide over the glacier and can experience it up close. Those who aren’t afraid of heights can also marvel at the massive ice mass from below: the glacier grotto, with its millions of sparkling ice crystals, is located 20 meters beneath the glacier’s surface.

In winter, Titlis is considered the skiing and snowboarding paradise of Central Switzerland. The longest run is 12 kilometers long and covers an elevation difference of 2,000 meters. An additional 80 kilometers of slopes ensure a variety of fun on the slopes. Winter activities in the region also include sledding, cross-country skiing, winter hiking, and snowshoeing.

The TITLIS Tower, which opened in 2026, offers exclusive experiences at over 3,000 meters above sea level. Visitors can discover luxury watches at the Rolex boutique, and guests are treated to modern Alpine cuisine at Joseph’s restaurant. The “Horizon Deck” observation deck also offers an impressive view of the glaciers and mountains of Central Switzerland.

A further highlight is the spectacular TITLIS Cliff Walk suspension bridge at 3,041 meters (9,977 ft) above sea level. The bridge is 100 meters (328 ft) long and can be crossed in approximately 150 steps. The walk across the bridge is free and is guaranteed to set your pulse racing.
