Lake Zug
Lake Zug ranks 9th among the top ten largest lakes in Switzerland, with the eastern and western shores only 920 meters (3,018ft) apart at its narrowest point. It is here that swimming enthusiasts swim across the lake during the annual “Seeüberquerung” event – for many water lovers, the highlight of the summer.
A Host of Leisure Activities
There are 13 public swimming baths around the lake, so everyone is guaranteed to find something to their liking. Also in summer, the three scheduled boats, “MS Zug”, “MS Rigi”, and “MS Schwyz”, operate on the lake. On board these vessels, passengers can enjoy the breathtaking views, the sunset, or a Sunday brunch.
Enchanting Park
There is a wide range of leisure activities around Lake Zug. In addition to the picturesque Old Town of Zug, the magnificent scenery, and the countless hiking trails, the Vilette Park in Cham is particularly recommended as a place to visit. The beautiful park with its impressive tree population is unparalleled far and wide. Those interested in culture and music are also invited to visit the Villa Villette, with its wonderful concert and exhibition rooms.
