Lake Ägeri

Over 700 years ago, the lakeshore was the scene of the famous Battle of Morgarten. Today things are rather more peaceful, and you can swim, sail, and fish here undisturbed.

The turquoise-blue lake is considered to be the pearl of Canton Zug. It is a place steeped in history, for it was here that the Habsburgs and the Confederates fought each other in the legendary Battle of Morgarten. The theme trail passes through the original sites of the events of 1315. The fascinating tour comprises seven stations with audio stories and installations.

Bathing, Swimming, and Splashing Around

However, the lake is not just a popular destination for fans of Medieval times, but also a great place to bathe. Visitors can either enter the water somewhere along the shore or opt for the public bathing facility. With a sandy beach, grassy area, water slides, and diving platforms, the Lido Unterägeri has everything water rats could wish for.

Boat Trips for Young and Old

For all those who would like to cross Lake Aegeri without getting their feet wet feet, the MS Aegeri offers various scheduled services and cruises: whether to get to the starting point of a family hike, as a leisurely family round trip with seven stops, for breakfast or lunch with refreshing lake air, or as a leisurely round trip with coffee and cake. In addition, the evening cruises allow guests to enjoy the sunset from the water.
