But above all, Zurich is more than just a city: Zurich is a home, workplace or vacation destination, a place between idyll and metropolis. This exhibition at the Swiss National Museum examines the city´s and canton´s background and tells its story through simple everyday objects and historical treasures. The cultural influences of Alfred Escher, Marie Heim-Vögtlin or Johanna Spyri are illuminated and humorous short films on Zurich communities are shown.
