All about the Uetliberg

Summer tips
The Uetliberg is as much a part of Zurich as the Limmat river and the lake. This perfect hiking spot and local recreation area makes a great place for a day trip. It offers both peace and quiet in natural surroundings and a range of exciting activities for people of all ages, all year round.
Planet Trail
Hike from Uetliberg to Felsenegg
This easy hike is suitable for the whole family. The educational trail takes approximately two hours and takes walkers from the sun to the dwarf planet Pluto via the eight planets of the solar system – all at a ratio of one meter to one million kilometers. Breathtaking views of Lake Zurich and the panorama of the Alps await at Felsenegg.
Teehüsli Fallätsche
Tea and tradition with a view
The Teehüsli is a teahouse that perches above the Fallätsche hiking area and offers a variety of different teas and simple snacks. There is no electricity, running water, or modern technology here, so food is cooked on a wood stove and dishes are washed with spring water.

Uto Kulm events
Delicious food and culture overlooking Zurich
The Hotel and Restaurant Uto Kulm puts on a varied program of events all year round. “Tavolata & Dance”, pop-ups in the Muse Garden, and Sunday brunch are just some of the options available here – always accompanied by a view to remember.

Uetliberg observation tower
A panoramic view from 70 meters up
The observation tower on the Uetliberg provides a 360-degree view of the city, lake, and Alps. Visitors who climb the 178 steps are rewarded with a breathtaking panorama.
Winter tips
When Zurich is covered in mist, the Uetliberg often gleams under a clear blue sky. In the colder months, it provides a spectacular backdrop for walks, snowy adventures, and sunny excursions high above the city.
Tobogganing
Descent through the winter landscape
Zurich locals’ most popular tobogganing run is surrounded by a beautiful landscape and goes right through the forest down to the Triemli metropolitan area.

High above the sea of mist
Winter days with a view
Even in the months of mist and fog, the Uetliberg is worth the trip. The summit often sits above the clouds and offers a clear panoramic view of the Alps. An ideal place for a wander or a gentle winter hike.
The magic of winter
Twinkling lights, winter scents, and moments of indulgence
From November to February, the Uetliberg is transformed into a festive winter wonderland. Guests will discover mulled wine, delicious chestnuts, a little Christmas market, fondue in the Maiensäss alpine hut, and activities such as candle making and curling, all high above the rooftops of Zurich.
