Illumination at Einsiedeln Abbey
Light Art, Music, and Social Gatherings – 16 Evenings in January
Einsiedeln shines brightly during the darkest month of the year. Over the course of 16 evenings, the Baroque monastery façade is transformed into a monumental canvas of light, color, and music.
Under the theme “Encounter,” the 2027 illumination combines architecture, light art, and moving images into a production lasting about 20 min. Nine high-performance laser projectors illuminate the façade across a wide area, transforming the monastery square into a unique open-air experience.
Performances take place daily at 6:30pm and 7:30pm; admission is free.
