Züri Märlitram
All aboard: The Böögg is setting off! In the spring, Zurich’s Märlitram takes children aged 4 to 9 on a wonderful journey through the city. The Böögg presides over the trip as the streetcar driver, while narrators in guild costumes accompany the children and bring stories about the spring festival of Sechseläuten and other Zurich traditions to life [narrated in Swiss German]. Children will discover, for example, how the Böögg is constructed and which guilds help to build him – or they will discover the story of the little goat Fiorella from the guest canton Graubünden. All this makes Zurich’s Märlitram an unforgettable spring experience.
The stories on board
What story will children hear on the streetcar? One of three stories will be told on each trip – the narrators decide which there and then. Here is an overview of the three stories.
