The story goes that a long time ago, a beautiful princess was turned into a tree by evil spirits in this mythical forest. Fortunately, the princess could be saved, and the evil spirits haven’t been seen since. And mercifully so, because today small princes and princesses can explore this mythical forest full of animals, mighty rock formations, massive trees and rugged hillsides without fear of evil curses and witchcraft. So, keep your eyes and ears open - there’s lots to see and hear!

Tip: There are numerous picnic areas and fire pits along the marked path. Be sure to pack a lunch. Taking a little break at the log cabin Herzoghütte is also a good idea.
