Cross-country skiing in the small, car-free resort of Stoos at 1,300 meters (4,265ft) above sea level promises an unforgettable experience amidst an enchanting winter landscape.

Ski Area

Stoos lies at 1,300 meters (4,265ft) above sea level and is car-free, which is why it can only be accessed by funicular railway or cable car. The trip is well worth the effort, though, for from here visitors can enjoy a spectacular panorama of the surrounding mountains. The cross-country trails are groomed for both the classic and the skate style of skiing.

Trails

Gentle: Frontal Trail
This short, 2.7 km (1.7 mile) cross-country trail is classified as a blue route and is also suitable for novices. With two short ascents and two descents, it is ideal for practicing various cross-country skiing techniques.

Athletic: Chruteren Trail
This challenging route is 7.9 km (4.9 miles) long and starts either at the bottom station of the Klingenstock chair lift or at the Sternegg or Maggiweid ski lifts.
