After working for a few years in the luxury gastronomy sector, Nenad Mlinarevic has opened his own restaurant in the heart of Zurich’s Old Town. Here he celebrates top-level cusine in a down-to-earth way.
The renowned chef has gently renovated the frill-free Bauenschänke restaurant and refined it with Scandinavian style elements. On doing so, he has created the perfect backdrop for the reasonably-priced cuisine served here, which is characterised by the simple combination of first-rate products.
The “Schweinebauchgröstel” (roasted pork belly) is well on the way to becoming a public favorite. However, the home-made bread and lemonade are also reason enough to enjoy a meal here.
