The Langmatt Foundation is located in the former villa of the Sidney Brown-Sulzer family, industrialists and collectors in their own right. A museum was set up in this magnificent former home thanks to the legacy of the last family descendent.
The living areas, resplendent with French furnishings, are home to an important collection of French impressionist art (Renoir, Cézanne, Monet) and rare collectors' items such as East Asian and European ceramics and carpets.
The estate gardens are also well worth a visit – forming a perfect backdrop to the splendid paintings by these famous impressionists.
