Culinary Fall – Good Food at Zurich's Restaurants
Fall is the season for cuisine.
Lots of ripe fruit, abundant harvests and seasonal specialties are served up at Zurich’s many catering establishments. The traditional restaurants in Zurich’s old town fill their menus with wild game dishes and seasonal vegetables – many types of pumpkin and roasted chestnuts are also on the cards. In fall, mushrooms sprout from the ground of the regional forests and also end up on the dinner plates of many restaurants. Each year, the two-week Expovina wine fair takes place in Zurich in October and November. Twelve ‘wine ships’ are moored on the Bürkliterrasse and up to 70,000 visitors from all over the world come here to sample the wines.
