Forum of Swiss History

Swiss history and traditions, vividly explained in a prime location in Schwyz.

In former times, this imposing building was used to store grain and, later, defense equipment – therefore the perfect place to immerse yourself in history. The Forum of Swiss History belongs to the group of museums run by the Swiss National Museum, and particularly focuses on the foundation and early development of the Old Swiss Confederacy in the Middle Ages.

Whether you want a short overview or in-depth information – everything is possible here. In addition, temporary exhibitions are held on the history and traditions of the country and the surrounding area.
