SlowUp Zürichsee

As a prelude to the 2024 Road World Championships, slowUp Zürichsee will take place in September 2023 with an extension of the route to Sechseläutenplatz in central Zurich. As a result, the route covers 42 instead of the usual 30 kilometers. During the World Championships, Sechseläutenplatz will serve as the finish area and fan zone for all the races.

SlowUp Zürichsee takes place on a 42 km (26 mile) route between Zurich, Meilen, Rapperswil-Jona and Schmerikon.

SlowUp allows all residents of Zurich and the villages along the lake, as well as guests from near and far, to discover the glorious Lake Zurich without the usual hustle and bustle of the daily traffic. For one day, a leisurely atmosphere takes over the road, free of professional athletes and motorized traffic. Surrounded by picturesque fall scenery, the route along Lake Zurich offers much more than just traffic lights and signs.

Program

The route will be open for bikers, skaters and other non-motorized participants from 10.00am – 5.00pm. In the towns along the route (Zurich, Meilen, Uitikon am See, Männedorf, Stäfa / Uerikon, Feldbach, Rapperswil-Jona, Wurmsbach / Bollingen and Schmerikon) there will be food stands, bars and many more attractions for the young and young at heart.
