Off to the island - Ufnau!

This excursion is perfect for all those who yearn for a bit of island atmosphere. Ufnau offers nature and culture in the middle of Lake Zurich.

Everyone knows Ufnau by sight. After all, Switzerland’s largest island is in constant view from the lake dam and the shore.

On this guided tour, this beautiful spot – which is a designated nature conservation area and only accessible by boat – can be viewed from close quarters for a change.

During the walk across the island, which has been in the possession of Einsiedeln Abbey since the year 965, guests encounter all kinds of rare plants, countless birds, and numerous traces of people who have been drawn to Ufnau over the centuries. Romans built a temple, saints prayed, and celebrities from all over the world have paid a visit here.

Incidentally, a visit to the St. Peter and Paul Church is possible for an additional fee of CHF 110. This money goes entirely to theparish of Freienbach for the upkeep of the church.
