The landscape surrounding Lake Zurich is not only one of the world’s most prestigious areas to dwell, but in addition a greatly contrasting hikers’ paradise that cradles a multitude of pleasant surprises. The Zürichsee-Weg shows the versatile region at its best; passing historical towns and villages, castle parks, settlements with noble villas, unspoilt shorelines, extensive woods and wild, bubbling streams.

The Uetliberg is particularly popular in November, as its summit is often above the blanket of fog that can cover the city at this time of year. In the winter, the hiking trails to the summit are converted into sledding runs.
In summer, there’s plenty to discover on well-marked hiking routes, a mountain bike route, and on the Planet Trail. This hour-and-a-half to two-hour walk from Uetliberg to Felsenegg (Adliswil) takes you on a fascinating tour through a model of our solar system.

Activities

- The varied Denzlerweg leads almost straight up from Albisguetli (last stop on the number 13 tram line) to the summit.
- Laternenweg also leads from Albisguetli slightly further westwards up to the ridge.
- The Hohensteinweg leads up from Triemli (last stop on the number 14 tram line) over a shoulder of the mountain and is especially popular in the winter as a sledging run.
- A woodland path leads up from Uitikon-Waldegg (car park) to the summit. This path has the smallest incline.
There is also a mountain bike route that begins at the television tower and takes bikers over 3.5 km and a difference in altitude of 350 m down to the Triemli SZU station.

Atzmännig in Goldingen has something in store for the whole family. A chair lift brings those seeking adventure to the starting point of the giant slide. Then there's no turning back from the adrenaline boost of the ride down! Riding on top of coasters, visitors drop a whole 700 meter-long slide with tunnels, raised curves and stream crossings through the valley. The person on the slide can decide how fast/slow he/she chooses to go.
