The history of the Old Botanical Gardens dates back to the year 1837. In the second half of the 20th century when its location became too cramped and the shade from the surrounding apartment buildings affected the growth of the plants, the Botanical Gardens were moved to the other side of the city. An idyllic park with old trees and a glass pavilion that is protected as a national monument remain to be enjoyed today.
