Moulage Museum

This collection of medical moulds dates back to 1917 and enjoys a worldwide reputation for the best preserved, most lifelike wax moulds. These wax moulds are three-dimensional models taken directly from the patient's body surface. They show all disease-related skin changes in relation to both color and structure. The museum, which is run by the University and the University Hospital, contains a teaching collection of skin disease moulds for academic purposes plus an exhibition aimed at explaining prevention and hygiene to the public, dealing with e.g. occupational diseases, skin cancer and sexually transmitted diseases.

Scientific collections

A place for adults and children who like to see eye to eye with nature for a while. The city of Winterthur's Scientific Collections provide insight into the multi-faceted world of animals and plants. Prehistoric fish, ammonites and flint stones tell the long story of our nature. Sparkling crystals, splendid models of mountains and rough stones tell of erosion and the formation of the Alps. Keralas Children's Museum takes a playful approach to teaching pre-school aged children about nature and helping them overcome fear of the unknown.
