This museum is located in the former residence (a Zürichberg villa dating from the turn of the century) of Werner Coninx (1911-1980), an eccentric collector, patron and painter, and houses one of the biggest private art collections in Switzerland. In addition to paintings and sculptures, the museum also features graphic works from the Classic Modern period including, amongst others, important groups of work by Picasso and Kirchner. Visitors may also view major works of 19th and 20th century Swiss art, amongst which a prominent place is given to a large number of drawings by Hodler and Auberjonois. Hindu and Buddhist sculptures.
