«ICSE 2012 consisted of a main conference on June 6-8, 2012 in the Kongresshaus with 870 participants and more than 40 workshops, tutorials, and other satellite events on June 2-5 and June 9 which took place on the Irchel campus of the University of Zurich with an average attendance of about 350 people per day.
ICSE 2012 had the highest attendance of all ICSEs in the past 12 years, although previous venues were places such as Cape Town, Hawaii, Leipzig, Shanghai, and Toronto. Although we received critical remarks about the high prices in Zurich, the overall feedback was overwhelmingly positive. Participants particularly appreciated the attractiveness of Zurich as a venue and the outstanding public transport system (we had provided a free conference public transport ticket).
The excellent support we received from Zurich Tourism helped us a lot when organizing ICSE 2012. We particularly appreciated the assistance for finding venues, the organization of room blocks in over 20 hotels, and many useful hints and contacts.»
Prof. Martin Glinz, University of Zurich, ICSE 2012 General Chair
13-16 September 2011, ETH Zürich, 380 participants
«We accepted the commitment of taking for the first time this important conference series to Zurich since we knew we had a good solution to each of the key logistic challenges: a great conference facility in the ETH main building, the venue was attractive and easy to reach from all over the world and for the other logistic matters, such as hotel reservations and conference events, we could rely on the professional support of Zürich Tourism, the city Tourist Board. A great support for a difficult task, which is not given for granted!
The conference took place as the organizers have planned (and wished!); 380 people attended it. For the conference events different locations in the town were chosen to allow the attendees to get to know the town and to enjoy the many different sights and environments it offers.
And at the end the organizers received enthusiastic feedbacks not only about the scientific content but also about the whole organization. »

27 - 29 June 2011, Kongresshaus Zürich, 1300 participants
«It was a spectacular convention: Instead of the expected 600 participants more than 1300 landscape architects from as many as 74 countries were attending the 48th IFLA World Congress. This somehow complex event was carried out by the Federation of Swiss Landscape Architects and the City of Zurich's Office of Parks and Open Spaces with the help and guidance by the team of Zurich Tourism assisting the organizing committee with regard to the selection of the PCO and during the whole project. The response amongst the participants, the exhibitors and guests was overwhelming. One could not imagine a better calling card for Switzerland, the beauty of its countryside and the people living here.»
Lukas Handschin, Communications, City of Zürich’s Office of Parks and Open Spaces
International Conference on Physical Modelling in Geotechnics
28 June - 1 July 2010, ETH Zürich, 300 participants
« Zurich Tourism were exceedingly helpful in supporting the conference, setting up access to the local hotels and our gala evening, and arranging for a speech from the Minister for Education. Whereas the conference itself was hosted inhouse at the Hönggerberg Campus of ETH Zurich, the city provided a wonderful opportunity to relax after the formal and social sessions. It was declared universally that Zurich was a great place to come for a conference! »

The 12th Mechatronic Forum Biennial International Conference
28 - 30 June 2010, ETH Zürich, 120 participants
« This year’s Conference was held in the main building of ETH Zürich (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zürich), located in one of the most scenic spots downtown Zürich. The feedback we were getting by the delegates was devastatingly. Besides having been a terrific team at ETH Zürich, we were grateful for the professional and efficient assistance of Zürich Tourism. Its Convention Bureau was of great assistance. This organization helped finding the venue for the Gala Dinner, which eventually took place in a beautiful old Guild House in the center of Zürich and also was in charge of accommodating the delegates. »

10 - 12 September 2009, Renaissance Zürich Hotel, 230 participants
« Die Kongressteilnehmer zeigten sich hellauf begeistert von Zürich als zentralem und gut erreichbarem Ort in einem besonderen Land. »

10th Anniversary International Conference & 10 Annual General Meeting
18 - 22 May 2008, Kongresshaus Zürich, 500 participants
« An attractive city with the advantage of lake and mountain scenery. Travel between airport and city very easy. The Kongresshaus Zurich is a very impressive conference venue in an ideal location beside the lake. In easy reach of all hotels, station and tram system. The assistance given to us by Zurich Tourism before the initial visit was excellent and we were given a variety of options / ideas for our conference dinner. Zurich Tourism provided tremendous assistance in identifying and negotiating with suitably priced hotels within Zurich. »
