The Architectural Forum is a place of discussion and debate on themes related to architecture and urban planning. Set out as a hall of art rather than as a museum, it focuses on the here-and-now, not on architectural history. The exhibits conform to the "Emmental cheese principle": long-term displays form the mass, with spontaneous events, temporary exhibitions and ad hoc lectures constituting the holes. The Architectural Forum always aims to have a say in shaping planning and building policy. It is a stage, a pulpit, a lecture room and an exhibition area all at once.
