The world of succulents - moisture-storing plants - ranges from meter-high candelabra cacti to tiny houseleeks. All their many facets are represented in this Zürich collection, which ranks as one of the most important in Europe. It includes 8000 varieties of cacti, living stones, aloes, carrion flowers and spurge. The collection of succulents from Madagascar is worthy of special mention. Threatened by extinction, the Zürcher collection has become a kind of Noah's Ark for these varieties. Access: From Zürich main station Tram 7 direction Wollishofen, till Tramstop Brunaustrasse.
