International Tree Archive (IBA) museum
A little-known approach to history: The international tree archive on the cultural history of trees and forests was founded by the photographer Verena Eggmann (1946-1997) and is the only museum of its kind in the world. Since 1968, it has been located in the historic Villa Bidermann of the city of Winterthur and houses the largest photographic collection of historic trees and forests (14 countries) as well as ritualistic objects, objects of everyday life and models and has an adjacent cultural botanical park. In changing exhibits and special events, the museum shows the mythical, religious, symbolic, artistic, political etc. significance of trees, groves and forests. It offers workshops for schools and tours for adults.

Kellenberger timepiece collection
Since 1999, the precious collection has been housed in the Gewerbemuseum, the museum of trades. The new exhibition takes the visitor on a journey through time: It leads past early instruments for observing the sky, past sundials, hourglasses and wheel watches all the way to synchronized chronometers. Highlights of the collection are the famous steel console clocks of the Winterthur watchmakers Liechti from the 16th and 17th centuries and a significant collection of Swiss wooden wheel clocks dating back to the 18th century. The transformation of the manufacturing process as a result of the industrial revolution is also illustrated. ZürichCARD PLUS: Free entry
