Watch & Clock Museum Beyer Zürich
This unique museum shows timepieces of all kinds starting out with basic non-mechanical clocks (sun dials, scientific measuring instruments from the 16th and 17th centuries, oil clocks from southern Germany, sand and shepherds watches). The collection also includes iron watches, Swiss wooden-gear clocks and, naturally, curiosity pieces. Fans of the Renaissance will find magnificent clocks dating from this period such as e.g. the Nuremberg tower clock dating from 1580. There is also a superb collection of Neuchâtel table clocks (1700-1850). Marine watches and navigation instruments round off the largest private collection in Switzerland.
