On June 10, 2008, Zürich was accorded the top ranking as the city with the highest standard of living for the seventh year in succession (ranking list). The renowned human resources consultants, William M. Mercer, analyzed 215 cities based on 39 different criteria, including leisure and relaxation, safety, cleanliness, political and economical stability, and medical care.
